When there are more than six attackers or seven defenders on the offensive or defensive half of the field, it is considered offside.

Restraining Lines
Offside rules are enforced by restraining lines. A restraining line in lacrosse divides the offensive and defensive areas from the midfield area by running parallel to the center line and end lines. Face-offs and play are governed by restraining lines.
